The wing (circa 1973) opposite to where we lived comprising the library and drawing room. The section on the left is the oldest part of the house and was the honeykeeper’s cottage in Cromwell’s day. Joan (John’s daughter and subject of the previous post) told me she once stood on top of the chimney and waved to passing birds!
